Simple Self-Care for a Balanced Festive Season
A healthy, holistic you is the best gift you can give your loved ones.
Dear Simply Flourish Family,

As we enter the festive season, I want to encourage you to take care of yourself—spiritually, physically, emotionally, and mentally. A healthy, holistic you is the best gift you can give your loved ones. Here are some simple, practical tips to help you thrive:
Spiritually:
Take time to connect with God daily. Go for a walk and listen to worship music, journal your thoughts, pray about 2025, and ask God for a word for the year. Let His peace guide you through this busy season.
Physically:
Keep it simple—nourish your body with God-made food, drink plenty of water, get sunlight, rest well, and move. Don’t skip breakfast—it sets you up for the day and helps prevent mindless eating. Prioritize sleep, have fun, and make time for movement, even if it’s just a quick walk. Plus, remember: it’s not what you eat some of the time that matters—it’s what you eat most of the time. The 80/20 principle is fantastic. Enjoy the food! A healthy lifestyle isn’t about deprivation, guilt, or shame—it’s about living a life in abundance, full of love and grace. Sometimes the healthiest thing you can do is enjoy dessert with family and friends. Stressing over food is just as unhealthy for your body!
Emotionally:
Take some “me time” every day, even if it’s just for 10 minutes. Connect with loved ones who uplift you, and don’t shy away from feeling your emotions. Share your heart with God—He cares about every part of you.
Mentally:
Spend time in God’s Word to refresh your mind. Go for walks, eat whole foods for your gut health, and be mindful of your triggers. Set healthy boundaries to protect your peace and avoid burnout.
This festive season, remember that taking care of yourself holistically will bless both you and those around you!
Wishing you a peaceful and joyful holiday,
Minette
