Do you always feel like you’re in a hurry?
..a book that deeply challenged the way I view time and rest.
Hi SF fam,
Like life is just… rushed?
This morning during my journal time, I asked Jesus a simple question:
“What do I need more of in my days?”
And almost instantly, I felt the Holy Spirit remind me of something I’ve learned before -but clearly needed again.

Not more productivity.
Not more efficiency.
Not more multitasking.
Less hurry.
I was reminded of the powerful lessons from The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark Comer - a book that deeply challenged the way I view time and rest.
Sabbath.
Silence.
Solitude.
Simplicity.
Slowing down.
Not doing less necessarily… but doing things without that internal rush.

Because here’s the truth:
You can do the same things - but in a different spirit.
And when you slow down while doing them, your nervous system responds. Your spirit settles. Your mind clears. You begin to lead your day instead of being dragged by it.
I also felt prompted toward very practical things:
• More Scripture woven into my day
• Worship music filling my home
• Stronger boundaries with my phone
• Clear laptop hours
• Planning my days with intention
• Asking: “Is this really necessary?”
• And sometimes… simply leaving it for tomorrow
We often believe that if we slow down, we’ll fall behind.
But I’m learning something different:
When you make time for God, He multiplies your time.
When you incorporate Sabbath, even in small ways, you remember you are not the provider - He is.
When you practice silence, you hear wisdom.
When you simplify, you create space.
When you slow down, you actually become more effective - just without the anxiety.
You don’t need a new planner.
You need a new pace.
And maybe today, the most productive thing you can do…
is to slow down.
I am a creature of habit. I don’t just hope for these rhythms - I train myself in them. Small, consistent habits. Boundaries that protect what matters. Gentle structure that creates peace.
And if you feel stuck in the cycle of rush and overwhelm, I can help you build these habits too.
You don’t have to figure it out alone.
